This collection documents student employment, graduate assistantship program, & Legislative Government Internship Program information. Also included are regional research studies pertaining to hospitals, Asian Americans, the airport study, crime, mobile home living and quality of life.

Scope and Contents This collection contains the personal papers of Michael Townsend relating to his time as an Associate Professor of Human Services and Social Work at Sangamon State University. Materials relate to courses he taught, community activist organizations and student groups, guest speakers at the university, and the sociologist Sidney Willhelm, with whom Townsend maintained correspondence. This collection includes the theses and PhD dissertations that have been given to the Archives. The collection was originally organized by topic and/or department. Starting in 2024, the theses are listed in the order in which they were added to the collection.

While the collection does include signficiant portion of the theses and dissertations put out by students, there are works that have not been given to the archives.
