Scope and Contents Howard Disson, Dean of SSU library, proposed a statewide academic library system to the IBHE (Illinois Board of Higher Education) in October 1972. When proposal rejected, he called a meeting of twelve directors of academic libraries in central Illinois in January 1973. The Papers of Richard Shereikis include memos, minutes, reports and published articles. Prof. Shereikis worked persistently to establish and maintain a balance between vocational training and "general education" at SSU. His efforts are documented in this series. He was also on the Liberal Arts Colloquia Task Force for several years, and it's records provide an account of the development of Liberal Studies Colloquia as they are presently offered.

File contains information pertaining to the origination Friends of the Prairie Stars. Founded in 1979, this non-for-profit athletic booster club has sought to provide financial support to the athletic teams at SSU/UIS. Documents include meeting agendas and minutes, membership lists, financial reports and tax documents as well as records of athlete scholarships, fundraisers and membership drives.
