Lincoln Sites Project
Scope and Contents
Included in this collection is correspondence between the project leaders and Lincoln experts about the remodel of the Lincoln home as well as the other sites around Springfield. Also included in this collection are interviews with Lincoln experts that would be used in the documentary. There are also scripts and drafts of various speeches, presentations, and pamphlets. There are also various articles about Lincoln and his time in Springfield/Illinois.

History
The Lincoln Sites Project or Lincolns Thought and The Present, was created for the Bicentennial of the United States to show the history of the Lincoln Sites in the Springfield area. The Lincoln sites include: the Lincoln Home, Lincolns New Salem, the Depot, Lincolns Law Office, the Tomb of Lincoln, and the Old State Capitol Building. The goal of this project was to remodel and reimagine the sites mentioned previously with the Lincoln Home and the Depot receiving the most focus. Also included in the grant proposal was a documentary discussing each of the sites in detail with Lincolns impacts as well as people recounting/reading first person testimony about Lincolns time at these sites. Also born from this project was the Lincoln Symposium/Lincoln Conference.

Audio/Video content from this collection was removed due to Vinegar Syndrome for preservation purposes.
