University Events Chronology Records
Scope and Contents
This collection includes chronological listings of events at SSU, administrative statistics and program recommendations. Events include lectures by Mark Heyman, Margaret Sloan, Ray Marchall, Tom Hamlstead, Cullom Davis, Charles Schweighauser and Gene Roddenberry. Topics include: "White Man looks at the Back man's World; Community Energy Self-Reliance; Patterns of Interaction in the Family; the New U.S. China Policy; and Law Enforcement & the Elderly." Administrative statistics provide information regarding how many graduate and undergraduate students attended each event. Program recommendations are from participating faculty and staff and provide suggestions for new topics to be offered and how to improve existing lectures and presentations.

Continuing education has long been a part of Sangamon State University and later the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS). Classes were held in a variety of areas to provide career professionals with training. Currently, continuing education falls under the Continuing and Professional (CAPE) unit at UIS.
