Scope and Contents
The University Relations Subject File, 1978-89 consists of reports, correspondences, minutes and planning materials pertaining to SSU faculty, Committee on the Status of University women, Joint University Advisory Committee (JUAC), Commencement, Foundation Bylaws, honorary scholarships, Soccer 1978-82, Search Committees, and Council of Academic Affairs. The file also contains reports on John Kennedy, Director of the Auditorium; Tim Goins, V.P for Business and Administrative Services and Cullom Davis, Professor of History and Acting Dean of Library Services, 1976-77.
University Relations informs students, faculty, staff and the surrounding community of SSU policies, programs, and activities.
The collection is in alphabetical order.

History
One of the original departments on campus, University Relations handled things like press releases, communication between the community and campus as well as communication to the campus from the office of the president. Currently, these types of media are handled by the Office of Media Strategy.
