This collection contains the personal papers of Clarence Danhof. Correspondence files largely relate to his work at Sangamon State University and the administrative and curricular management of the Economics and Organization and Management programs. The rest of the collection concerns Danhof’s research on Springfield’s urban development, comprising research notes, official publications, budget reports, maps, and related material. Biography

Clarence H. Danhof was born September 12, 1911 in Sully, Iowa. Danhof was a Professor of Political Economy and the Associate Dean of Organization and Management Studies at Sangamon State University (later University of Illinois-Springfield) from 1972 to 1982. Over the course of his career he also taught at Columbia University, George Washington University, Princeton University, and Lehigh University, and worked for the federal government in various positions. Danhof passed away on July 17, 2003 in Los Gatos, California.
