Format of Oral History Transcript
Scope and Contents
The UIS Alumni SAGE Society created the Legacy Oral History Project to collect personal stories of individuals which reflect the University's founding and history. While many official documents exist that chronicle the development of SSU/UIS, few personal stories or memorabilia were available until this task was undertaken. Members of the Alumni SAGE Society interviewed some of the first students who attended UIS' predecessor - Sangamon State University. The questions asked included experiences both in the classroom and in the community during that time period. The majority of the interviews are on digital audio files and all have been transcribed into a memoir and can be found online in the Oral History Collection. Order is alphabetical.
