Towered Italianate style mansion constructed in 1879 by Ben F. Caldwell, located north of Chatham, Illinois. The Caldwell family moved to Sangamon County from Greene County, Illinois in 1848. The anonymous essay discusses the Caldwell family and the architecture of their home and its imposing barn. Includes bibliography of sources. 8 p., 8.5" x 11." Photocopy.
