The general purpose of the Airport Study Project was to determine interest in and attitudes toward, airline service to and from Springfield (especially airlines in the area such as Ozark and Air Illinois); the ultimate purpose was to suggest ways to increase use of service. The file fully documents the study, presenting data gained by use of five questionnaires, including the Quality of Life survey.

This records group consists of recorded interviews with Asian-Americans about their lives in and their feelings about America and Springfield Illinois. The Quality of Life Project combined statistics with subjective reports (through questionnaires and interviews) for eight cities: Bloomington-Normal, Champaign-Urbana, Decatur, East St. Louis, Peoria, Rockford, Rock Island-Moline, and Springfield.

Included are letters, memos, a bibliography on aging, census statistics on aging for Springfield from 1900 to 1970, characteristics of Older Persons in Ilinois, and information about Senior Citizens Commission of Springfield, Senior Citizens of Sangamon County (including the White Cottage of Springfield), and other materials.

The Center for Community & Regional Studies evolved from the CSMSC.
