Scope and Contents

Robert Marsh was the first registrar for SSU and this collection documents the occasion of the first day of registration (September 1970) at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, among other early university milestones. This collection consists of photographs, newspaper clippings, original registration documents, memos and newsletters regarding SSU, and the donor's letter written on the first SSU letterhead (pre-cloverleaf SSU logo).

Scope and Contents This collection includes a wide variety of interior and exterior views of Grayton, a mansion that stood in Taylorville, Illinois, from 1911 to 1962. Grayton was built (1911-1913) by Taylorville banker Eugene A.
