The Center for the Study of Middle Size Cities designed and implemented this study under the sponsorship of the American Association of University Women to identify attitudes of citizens of District #186 toward the public school system. Included are letters, memos, a bibliography on aging, census statistics on aging for Springfield from 1900 to 1970, characteristics of Older Persons in Ilinois, and information about Senior Citizens Commission of Springfield, Senior Citizens of Sangamon County (including the White Cottage of Springfield), and other materials.
