J9/5/5. History Program, Lincoln Sites Project, Film (unfinished) 1976-1977
This film was planned as the audiovisual component of the Lincoln Sites Project. Work was stopped after 15,000 ft had been shot. Some of the film is rough footage and some has preliminary editing. Out-takes are included. The theme is life in New Salem and Springfield in the days of Abraham Lincoln.

J9/5/7. History Program, Lincoln Sites Project, Conference Records, 1978-1980
The Lincoln Sites Conference of September 28-30, 1979, was sponsored by Sangamon State University and the Illinois Humaniites Council. The title was " Lincoln's Thought and Present: A conference on Historical Site Interpretation." The records include working papers, correspondence, financial reports, programs and news clippings. The correspondence includes letters to and from noted Lincoln scholar Stephen B. Oates.
J9/5/8. History Program, "Contemporary Perspectives on Abraham Lincoln" Intersession, 1976
"Contemporary Perspectives on Abraham Lincoln" was originally presented as the 1976 Lincoln Intersession at Sangamon State University. Fourteen scholars discussed themes in American History addressed by Lincoln and his contemporaries. The Intersession served as the basis for the 1978 course, "Contemporary Perspectives on Abraham Lincoln." Used re-edited audio cassette tapes have frequently been used as the basis for a media or self-study course.

Literature program records consiting of minutes, memoranda, reviews, course materials, lecture series, festival materials and other related information. The Literature Program became the English program in the 1987-88 school year.
J9/6/2. Literature Program, "Alchemist Review," 1977-
File includes a collection of the annual magazine "Alchemist Review", a literary arts magazine published by the SSU Literature Program and UIS English Program, Spring, 1977 to the present. The magazine contains poetry, short stories, short plays, photographs and art work.
J9/6/3. Literature Program, "Reading & Writing & Radio" Lectures, 1975-78
Literature Program entitled: "Reading & Writing & Radio", consisting of teaching manuals for creative writing for children. Conducted by Jacqueline Jackson, Sangamon State University WSSR-FM Radio. Brochures for Reading and Writing & Radio. 1975-1978. The Literature Program became the English program in the 1987-88 school year. J9/6/4. Literature Program, Sangamon Poets Collection, 1973-1980
Sangamon Poets, a group of poets and artists associated with SSU, published a series of chapbooks and a magazine, "The Village Magazine", under the leadership of John Knoepfle. Money for these publications came from a a grant by the Venture Fund. The collection includes copies of the chapbooks and the magazine, as well as financial ledger pages, correspondence, and a report to the Venture Fund Committee. The Literature Program became the English program in the 1987-88 school year.
