Plaque, "To Otto Kerner, in grateful appreciation for his farsighted leadership as governor of Illinois in the creation of the statewide community college system and the upper-level universities . . . ." (This plaque was to have been presented to former governor Kerner July 11, 1974. On July 10 the U. S. Supreme Court refused to hear his appeal on a bribery conviction. He went to prison the following week.)
