Scope and Contents
Turner, WWII veteran and businessman, discusses his boyhood in Petersburg, Illinois, his family, atteding Petersburg-Harris High School, and fraternity life at the University of Illinois in Urbana. He also recalls his Navy Air Corps service in WWII in the "Kingfisher Squadron," catapault sea planes on the Battleship Texas.
The memoir also includes copies of reminiscenses from and correspondence with members of the USS Texas Veterans Association.
