ILLINOIS STATECRAFT
Lutes recalls his association with Illinois Governor Dan Walker. He discusses being recruited to assist Dan Walker in the 1972 gubernatorial campaign to research policies, government, and the Ogilvie administration; the 1972 primary and fall elections; Walker's victory and transition to governorship, Walker's character, his appointments and relationship with the Illinois General Assembly and Independent Voters of Illinois; defeat for re-election in 1976; and the transition to Jim Thompson as governor.
