Lowenstein, medical doctor, discusses his work as a nutrition consultant for the IIAA in Brazil. He discusses living in Belem, his family, language problems, nutrition studies with the Ampa, Tome, Acu, and other Indian tribes, deficiency diseases, government policies, and his work with SESP (Servicio Especial de Saude Publica). He also briefly discusses his childhood and education in Germany, his immigration to U.S., medical practice, and interest in nutrition.
