Novota, immigrant from Austria-Hungary, recalls family, immigration, and living in Chicago. He discusses Moweaqua, Illinois, home life, neighborhoods, chores and games, early television and electrical work, WWII army service, his father during WWI in Europe, coal mining unions, his work in the Moweaqua mine and the 1932 Christmas Eve mine disaster.
