Mrs. Forbes discusses her life in a Quaker family and recalls work at Blackburn College in Carlinville, Illinois and its development from 1949 to 1986. She also discusses WWII as the wife of a conscientious objector, her work during the war at a mental hospital, living in England, and her recollections of Ecuador. Also mentions Adlai Stevenson, the Depression, and Japanese internment camps.
