PRISONER OF WAR EXPERIENCES IN WORLD WAR II
Fitzgerald discusses his experiences serving in the army during WWII, taking part in the landing at Anzio, Italy, capture by the Germans, internment at Stalag VIIA and Stalag IIB, conditions and treatment as a POW, escape and reunion with American forces. He recalls the work he performed on a cooperative farm while in the German prison camps, Christmas 1944, and discusses the long term effects of his POW experience.
