Charles Pineo, civil and sanitary engineer, discusses working for the IIAA from 1942-64 in Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru, Honduras, and Washington D.C.: building water and sewerage systems, IIAA policies and personnel, responsibilities and duties, hospital programs, government foreign relations and policies, work with the Pan-American Health Organization, and work as a private consultant. He also discusses pre-IIAA work on dams in the U.S. and work in the Panama Canal Zone. Also discusses different cultures, climate, people, religion, and politics in Latin America.
