ILLINOIS STATECRAFT Willard Ice, blind since age four, discusses his years as an attorney and public servant with the Department of Revenue. He recalls his family background, the accident that led to his blindness, education at the Jacksonville School for the Blind and Illinois College, attending law school at the University of Illinois, college activities, employment with the Illinois Department of Finance, WWII homefront and social life in Springfield, state legislation, private law practice, and teaching at Lincoln College of Law. He recalls political figures and Illinois Governors. He also shares his experiences as a blind person, and discusses obstacles, mobility, and how he perceives the outside world.
