Scope and Contents

Kirchner, a veterinarian from Havana, Illinois, recalls his early years and practice: training at McKillips Veterinary College in Chicago, treatment of animal diseases, practicing veterinary medicine in rural areas, and his work to eliminate rabies in Illinois dogs. He also discusses childhood on a Chandlerville farm, in Havana, and anti-German sentiment during WWI.
