Drennan, the granddaughter of G.V. Black, "the father of Scientific Dentistry", discusses the medical and dental practices of her grandfather, father, husband, brother, and sons. She recalls their education and her education at Illinois College and teaching experiences near Mendon, Illinois. She discusses her family background and growing up near Jacksonville, Illinois, her father's involvement with public health, the Jacksonville Public Health Department, her husband's service during WWII, and raising her children.
