Biography
Anna May Smith graduated from Barat College in 1938 with her BA then went to get her MA from Columbia University. In 1973 Anna May Smith accepted a position at Sangamon State University. She was only there for ~12 years before retiring in 1985, there is a scholarship in her name for the advancement of women’s education. Sadly in 2006 Anna passed away peacefully in Chicago.
