Scope and Contents
This collection contains the personal papers of Robert Sipe relating to his time as a professor of Work, Culture, and Society at Sangamon State University. It includes syllabi, brochures, and course planning material related to the Work, Culture, and Society program and correspondence and planning material for the Studies in Social Change program. There are two 16mm films related to the building of geodesic domes, one of which Sipe and his students built on campus in Spring 1973. Arranged alphabetically.

Biography
Robert B. Sipe was born circa 1945 and attended Thornridge High School. He received his bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University in 1968, and remained there to complete his master’s, after which he received his Ph.D from Claremont Graduate School in 1972.
Sipe joined Sangamon State University in 1973 as an Associate Professor of Work, Culture, and Society. In 1980 he started teaching as an Associate Professor of Labor Studies, and in 1988 became a full professor. He later became a Professor of Political Studies.
Robert Sipe married Maria Britton-Sipe in October 2012.
