The collection includes flags produced by student teams participating in Springfest for the years 2011-2018, as well as posters created from photos taken during Springfests from 2007-2011. Since 1992 Student Life has hosted Springfest, an annual team competition as a pre-finals week stress release event. Springfest competitions include several events, including: Flag and Chant, Scavanger Hunt, and Sports Day, which culminates with a tug-of-war tourney. Flags are produced by teams and follow annual Springfest themes and also typically include photographs and names of students on each team. The flags were used as part of Springfest's competetion where teams were judged based on flag design and construction. Teams accumulate points based on competitions of the week and winners are announced at the end of the week.
