Alumni SAGE Society Legacy Oral History Project Sister Mary Corde attended Sangamon State University taking courses in gerontology from Dr. Jeffrey Chesky, Rosamund Robbert, and Dr. Harry Berman. She earned a Master’s degree in Gerontology in 1994 and used her education in her work as emergency room nurse in Jackson, Mississippi, as parish nurse at St. Agnes in Springfield, Illinois, and later as Director of Nursing at the mother house for the Dominican Sisters of Springfield, IL.
