DID I JUST SEE WHAT I THOUGHT I SAW? Don Hickman, former WICS Springfield News Channel 20 anchor, recalls his childhood in Tennessee, adolescent years, introduction to broadcasting via radio, switch to television and many of the events he covered during his career: the Civil Rights Movement, the JFK and Martin Luther King Jr. assassinations, and the Vietnam War. Hickman also recalls his move to Springfield in 1972 and the cultural, economic, and political changes that have taken place in the city. Also discusses his family, changes in television news coverage, and work at WICS.
