Scope and Contents
Conlon discusses many aspects of life in Central Illinois: prohibition and police activities in the 1920's; the Depression; Progressive Miners of America; the Works Progress Administration and Public Works Administration; WWII; Springfield entertainments and radio broadcasting. He also discusses his work for the Federal government for the U.S. Treasury Department's Division of Disbursements, the Office of Price Administration, Office of Housing Expeditors, and Civil Service Commission. He also discusses WWII Japanese relocation centers set up near Denver, Colorado and his work as a poll watcher in Mississippi during the 1964 national election.
