PRISONER OF WAR EXPERIENCES IN WORLD WAR II
Ciarrachi, U.S. Marine, discusses his enlistment, transfer to China, duties at the United States Embassy in Peking, and management of the enlisted men's club. He discusses in detail his capture by the Japanese at the beginning of WWII in China: Japanese seizure of the Embassy, conditions and treatment in Japanese prisoner of war camps, medical facilities, work details, rats, and the boat trip to Japan. Also included are drawings of prison camp scenes and a copy of a 1985 California VFW Resolution calling for special compensation for Marines captured in North China.
