Shrum, country musician and radio broadcaster, discusses his career in radio, country music, and the movies: his screen audition and making movies with Gene Autry; singing and writing country music; the Grand Ole Opry; Roy Rogers; and the Country Music Association. He also discusses hosting a Springfield talk and country music radio show beginning in 1950; and his 1967 move to the WXEL Country Music Show in Pekin, Illinois. Also mentions Illinois Governors Sam Shapiro and Otto Kerner.
