FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH Virginia Hyndman, member of the Springfield's First Congregational Church, recalls church leaders and activities: Sunday School, committee work, women's activities, stewardship, 100th anniversary of the church, and the Handy Andys. Also discussed is the church's destruction by fire in 1956, services at the Temple B'rith Sholom, the new church building, groundbreaking, and the role of women in the church. Included in the memoir is a history of the church prepared by Hyndman for the 100th anniversary celebration.
