WWII CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTORS PROJECT Burgess, Union Seminary WWII conscientious objector, discusses his experiences at Union Seminary as a student and conscientious objector to WWII, involvement with student peace groups, the migrant ministry, working for the CIO labor union, and his experiences with the Southern Tenant Farmers Union and the Delmo Homes. Also discusses conditions in India and Indonesia, his work with the Peace Corps, racism and civil rights, experiences as Deputy Director of UNICEF, and the influence of his parents who served as missionaries in China.
