Haigwood, army infantryman, discusses his experiences as a Japanese prisoner of war: pre-WWII enlistment and training; service in the Philippines, Japanese attack on Pearl Habor and the Philippines; combat, capture on Corregidor Island; internment at Camp Cabanatuan and Mukden in Manchuria, treatment and conditions, work in steel machinery and tanning factories; liberation by the Russian Army and return to the U.S.
