Scope and Contents
This collection contains the personal papers of Michael Townsend relating to his time as an Associate Professor of Human Services and Social Work at Sangamon State University. Materials relate to courses he taught, community activist organizations and student groups, guest speakers at the university, and the sociologist Sidney Willhelm, with whom Townsend maintained correspondence. Formats include student newspapers, course syllabi, student papers relating to Springfield and Sangamon County (access to which are restricted), correspondence, meeting minutes, photographs, audio cassettes, and VHS tapes. It is arranged alphabetically.
