Scope and Contents
"Lincoln's Thought and the Present", known locally as the Lincoln Sites Project, was funded originally and mainly by the National Endowments for the Humanities. It was an attempt to unify the historical interpretations presented at the Lincon home, Old State Capitol, Lincoln's Tomb, Lincoln Law Office, Lincoln Depot and New Salem Park. Major activities of project were: a conference of renowned Lincoln scholars; development of audio- visual programs and a training program; renovation of the Lincoln depot; publication of six booklets (one per site). Records include correspondence, transcripts of conversations and meetings, document drafts, research notes and financial reports.
