Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

These student projects include written logs from the clinical experiences and the final written reports from the years 1993- (continuing).  The clinical experiences in the educational leadership program at UIS have been designed to provide administrative experience in a field setting.  Students enrolled in clinical experience courses have the opportunity to work closely with practitioners such as principals, coordinators, business managers, supervisors, and superintendents.  Through involvement in field experiences, students should acquire a realistic perspective of educational administration.

The clinical experiences courses are, by necessity, non-traditional in nature.  The requirements of the clinical experiences will be determined by the needs and career goals of individual students.  Therefore, the responsibilities, assigned tasks, and products of the experiences will vary from student to student.  The individualized and flexible nature of the courses are balanced, however, by a reasonable level of standardization which is necessary to ensure uniform high-quality experiences for all students and a solid grounding in those areas common to most positions in educational administration.
