Scope and Contents
Organized, operated and sponsored guest speakers and entertainment on the Chataqua grounds at Petersburg, Illinois. Later the grounds were subdivided and sold to members for cottages and concessions. Founded as the Old Salem Cumberland Presbyterian State Chataqua Association of Petersburg in 1897.
Photocopies of minute books, including committee records, financial reports, stock certificates and other materials documenting the history and activities of the Association. Also includes microfilm of the Association's newspaper, Old Salem Chautauquan, 1920-1923.
