These records pertain to campus and administrative engagement with North Central Association (NCA) of Colleges and Schools with regard to accreditation, assessment, and self-study. They include draft and final NCA site visit reports and some correspondence from NCA representatives. The majority of the material was generated by university administration and committees in response to NCA assessments including: annual reports to NCA, draft and final self-study reports, NCA steering committee memos and meeting minutes, as well as supporting data and documentation. The collection includes copies of SSU Accreditation Self-Study Reports for 1986-1987 and 1997 as well as NCA site visit reports for 1978, 1981, 1996, 1997, and 2001. These records were assembled by the Vice-President of Academic Affairs / Provost's Office (Sue Dezendolet, Dennis Foss, Michael Ayers, David Payne, and Wayne Penn) and include memos and reports generated for and by the NCA Accreditation Steering Committee which included faculty members: Brian Alley, Bob Crowley, Paula Garrott, Irene Hecht, Carl Long, Mary Jane MacDonald, Don Stanhope, and Ralph Stone.
