Scope and Contents
The office files of the SSU foundation include correspondence, memos, reports, fund drive records, agendas, and minutes of committee meetings, and agendas and minutes of annual SSU Foundation meetings.
These files contain information about the formation and early history of the SSU Foundation; the acquisition of land for SSU; the chartering and early history of the Alumni Foundation; the Pearson family gift of the stagecoach inn near Pleasant Plains and the development of the Clayville Rural Life Center; the fund drive for the completion of the PAC auditorium (Fund for the Performing Arts & Sciences); the fund drive for on-campus student housing; and the establishment of endowments for scholarships. They also contain information that did not come to fruition, most notably the planetarium.
